Carmen brings experience and devotion to her yoga practice and teaching based on her own journey from injury to wellness. She began practicing yoga in 2000, discovering that yoga and pranayama brought her relief from anxiety and panic attacks. Carmen found that with consistent practice, her body, mind and spirit became strong, calm and steady. In 2005 a severe car accident left her with shoulder and back injuries. Dealing with pain and limited range of movement, facing the possibility of surgeries and medications, Carmen deepened her yoga and mindfulness practices and found the skills needed to strengthen and condition her body beyond the limits her injuries presented. Carmen obtained an Associates Degree in Kinesiology, she is a Certified Personal Trainer and a Registered Yoga Teacher through the Institute of Spirituality & Health.
